Tunneys worked with a finance team of a well known £1.8b private equity backed high street retailer to optimise their ultilisation of available business data and to build out their capability in financial modelling and forecasting cashflow in order to meet the expectations of the new CFO and private equity board.
Tunneys were used to create a flexible and scalable basis for the finance team to build upon as better data is made available and the focuses of the CFO and board evolve in terms of options being assessed and various segments of the business being reviewed and understood.
How We Helped
Prior to engaging Tunneys, the new CFO and private equity owners of HealthShopCo* had identified a number gaps in the capabilities of the business around modelling and data utilisation resulting in a lack of transparency and clarity in how the business has been working and an inability to sufficiently predict the outcomes of various strategic options available to the CEO.
Tunneys were engaged to embed new capabilities into the finance team by working with various parts finance to create templates and systems that can be used to produce data insights and forecast that is well considered, clear and ready for internal board packs. Tunneys engaged finance, operations and IT in order to embed processes that would allow the business to self serve and drive continuous improvement in FP&A.
As a result, the business delivered their first board pack containing an accurate set of data and insights driven cash flow forecasts build bottom up and with which the CFO and board can understand the current and future state of the business across its multiple geographies and segments.
